Obituary

Laurel, MD

Mr. Christopher Clyde Richardson, 53, of Laurel, Maryland, and formerly of Halifax County, North Carolina and affectionately known as “Doc” or “Dusty”, was born to the late Zollie Thomas Richardson and Elizabeth Silver Richardson on September 11, 1963. He departed this life on March 19, 2017 at Howard County General Hospital in Maryland.

He was educated in Hollister Elementary and graduated from Eastman High School in Halifax County, North Carolina. He moved to Maryland and remained in the area until his death.

He was a loving and devoted father and brother, and a friend to all. He could brighten up any room with his smile and sense of humor.

He married Evelyn Lyons of Waldorf, Maryland.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Edward Richardson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter: Paula Elizabeth and Robert Richardson of Waldorf, Maryland; one grandchild: Jamel Richardson of Waldorf, Maryland; two sisters: Patricia Jones of Hollister and Lennie Brinkley (Max) of Hampton, Virginia; six brothers: Elderberry (Donna) and Glenn (Debra), both of Maryland, Upton (Louvelle), MacDonald (Regina) and Jimmy (Claytee), all of Hollister, North Carolina, and Rodney (Rosetta) of Cape Coral, Florida; a very special friend: Lori Cannon and her family of Laurel, Maryland; one uncle: Phillip Richardson; two aunts: Doreatha Silver and Louise Richardson, both of Hollister, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Visitation for Mr. Richardson will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Saturday, March 25, 2017, in the Roanoke Rapids Chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, on Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Pine Chapel Baptist Church in Hollister, NC. The Interment will take place immediately after the Service in the Richardson Family Cemetery in Hollister, NC.
