Weldon, NC

Mrs. Lillian Elizabeth Mallory, 96, of Weldon, North Carolina, was born on May 24, 1921 in Gaston, North Carolina. She was the fifth of twelve children to be born to the late Walter and Willier Clark. On November 18, 2017, Lillian Clark Mallory answered the call home and peacefully went to be with the Lord at the age of 96.

Lillian received her formal education at the Cool Spring Training School in Northampton County. Lillian accepted Christ in her life at an early age and was baptized at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Later, she became a faithful member of Twilight Baptist Church until her health began to decline.

Lillian loved her family very much. She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, and Sister to her family and all of her relatives. She especially loved family get-togethers, cookouts, gatherings, and reunions, not to mention, she was a fantastic cook. Lillian also loved traveling to various destinations such as: Hawaii, Canada, Arizona, Cuba, and Florida. In addition, she participated in various clubs and organizations such as: The Elks Shrine Club, The Chaloner Senior Citizen Club, and The Council on Aging.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband: William Freddie Mallory, Sr.; Her daughter: Ella Marie McWilliams; Her son: James Stanley Mallory; two sisters: Ruth Sinclair and Katherine King-Green; five brothers: Jasper Clark, Walter Clark, Noah Clark, James Clark, Junior Clark, and Leroy Clark.

Lillian leaves her cherished memories to her children: Bettye Hughes, William Freddie Mallory, Jr. (Faye), Clyde Ellis Mallory (Karen), Ronnie Mallory (Dorothy), Linda Brinson (Napoleon), Lowana Felton (Thomas), Elizabeth Scott (Pete); three grandchildren that she raised: Rosa Pegues (Robert Sr.), Ruby Davis (Marvin), Deborah Miller (Isaac, III); 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; three sisters: Betty Robinson, Mamie Carey, Deloris Guttman; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.


A Visitation for Mrs. Mallory will be held from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 pm, with the Funeral Service following the Visitation, beginning at 1:00 pm, on Friday, November 24, 2017 at the Evangelistic Church of Deliverance in Weldon, NC. The Interment will take place immediately after the Service in Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids, NC.
