John English, Jr. was called home on March 5, 2018. "Big Boy" as he was affectionately called was born on September 3, 1936 in Battleboro, North Carolina. He as the son to the
late John English, Sr. and Georgianna Spivey English.
He received his education in the North Carolina School System. John relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina where he worked at Dorothea Dix Hospital until his retirement in 1995,
moving back to and remaining in Rocky Mount, North Carolina until his passing.
John enjoyed working outside in his yard and making arts and crafts from materials he found around the house.
John was predeceased by five brothers, Lepoleon, James Arthur, William Elijah and Thomas; three sisters, Annie, Willie Ruth and Georgia; his partner, Frances Bass.
John leaves to cherish his memory three sisters, Pauline English and Mary Warren of Rocky Mount, NC, Christine(Rennie) Easter of Danbury, CT; four nephews, Jimmie Lee
Armstrong and Joseph Warren of Rocky Mount, NC, Gary English of Temple, TX, and Christopher Warren of Seffner, FL; four nieces, Patricia Leonard of Elizabeth City, NC,
Kimberly English and Alycia (Jonathan) Hill of Danbury,CT, Veronica Easter of Upper Marlboro, MD; two great-nephews, Isaiah Easter of Danbury, CT and Christopher
Warren, Jr. of Sather, FL; four great-nieces, Patricia English and Mia Hill of Danbury, CT, Jakeiria Warren of Rocky Mount, and Khyla Warren of Seffner, FL; cousin, Faith
(Candy) Henry the apple of his eye and a host of cousins, extended family and friends.
A Memorial Service for Mr. English will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Rocky Mount chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home.

No words can explain how I feel at this moment. You were a cousin to my family but, more like a Dad to me. I will miss the hugs, the laughter, the love & the joy that you bought to my life. We had a unspoken bond that will forever stay in my heart. I will miss you, But, God needed you more. To my family , from The Henry Family, Candy, Jimmy, Reve & Nikki our love & condolences.
