Richard Carroll Parker was born on April 13, 1947 to the late Willie Buck Lindsey and the late Edith Parker Artis in Wilson County, North Carolina. He departed this life peacefully
surrounded by family and friends on May 1, 2018.
Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Jean Horne; step-fathers, Javis T. Artis and James R. Cobb, and step-brother, Larry D. Artis.
Richard attended Wilson County schools. He was employed by Bridgestone/Firestone Tire Manufacturing Facility in Wilson, North Carolina from the time the plant opened until
his health lead to his early retirement in 2005.
Richard accepted the salvation of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in 2010 and became a member of Thorne's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Knowing that he was saved made his mother very happy.
Richard was a people person, and was most happy when he was around family and friends. He immensely enjoyed playing card games and listening to oldies but goodies music with his friends.

My condolence to the family. I know that you are hurt right now but our heavenly farther is a God of all comfort and he can comfort you in this time of need through his word . John 11:23-25.Jesus told Martha." Your brother will rise.” 24 Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.” 25 Jesus said to her: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life.
We know that this is a promise that will come true. Also these verses may be of comfort . Isaiah 25:8, Revelation 21:4. My prayers are with the family.
