Mr. Séquan  M. Fleming

Mr. Séquan Maleek Fleming, 20, of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, departed his earthly life on October 24, 2017, two days shy of his 21st Birthday, at the Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.

Séquan attended London Missionary Baptist Church throughout all of his youth. Séquan confessed Jesus Christ and was baptized in the Name of Jesus at New Dimension Deliverance Ministry of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina on May 20, 2017 at the age of 20.

Séquan was born on October 26, 1996 at the Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.

Séquan received his education through Halifax, Northampton and Gaston College Preparatory Schools. He received his diploma from Miracle Tabernacle in 2015. Séquan also attended Tarheel Challenge Academy in Salemburg, North Carolina and Kitrell Job Corps.

Séquan will always be remembered for his love of dancing, his bubbly personality, his compassionate caring heart, and his infectious smile.

Séquan was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather: Waverly Fleming; uncle: Andrew Fleming; great-grandmother: Mattie Brown; and his paternal grandfather: Sheldon Scott, Sr.

Those left to cherish his memories are his mother: Latonya Fleming of the home; his father: Adrain Scott of Gaston, NC; his daughter on the way: Sériah Maleah Fleming; his brothers: Javon Fleming of the home, Javontae Scott and Curtis Kirkland of Garysburg, NC; his sisters: Marreyah and Myauna Johnson of the home and Samya Scott of Garysburg, NC; his maternal grandparents: Timothy and Ellen Green of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his paternal grandparents: Sheldon Scott, Jr. of Jackson and Geraldine Scott of Gaston, NC; his great-grandmother: Pattie Fleming of Roanoke Rapids, NC; great-grandfather: Gordon Earl Banks of New York; his aunts: LaShyra Green of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Shenita Scott of Garysburg, NC, Laketa Artis of Gaston and Sheria Scott of Gaston, NC, and Latoya Robinson of Connecticut; his uncles Jermaine Fleming of Roanoke Rapids, NC Jaamal Scott (Ebony) of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Timothy Green, Jr. of Roanoke Rapids, NC, who was more like a brother; close friend: Marckiest Johnson; and Marcus Johnson, an important role model in his life, both of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his Godmother: Valerie Rooks of Roanoke Rapids, NC; special friend: Precious Peele; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

A Visitation for Mr. Fleming will be held from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 pm, with the Funeral Service following the Visitation, beginning at 1:00 pm, on Sunday, October 29, 2017, in the Roanoke Rapids Chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home, 520 Smith Church Road in Roanoke Rapids, NC. The Interment will take place immediately after the Service in the London Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids, NC.
