Mr. William  Earl Ellis Sr.

William Earl Ellis, Sr. was born to Fredrick Douglas Ellis and Maggie King Ellis on December 30, 1947. He joined the U.S. Military and served his country in Vietnam,
Japan, Thailand and Panama, as well as many stations in the United States. He received many accolades, including the National Defense Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon and Vietnam Service Medal, amongst many others. He became a retired U.S. Military Veteran in 1989 and continued to pursue many endeavors, including security and law enforcement.

William Earl Ellis, Sr. leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Edilma Ellis of Charleston, SC; two sons, William Earl Ellis, Jr. of Charleston, SC and Andre Ellis of Northridge, CA; one daughter, Jessica McCormick of Greensboro, NC; three sisters, Willie Mae Best of Rocky Mount, NC, Bessie McKinnon of Rocky Mount, NC and Dorothy Ellis of Rocky Mount, NC; one brother, Arthur Ellis of Rocky Mount, NC; seven grandchildren, James Jones, Jamal Jones, Savasha Lloyd, Jhasmine Ellis, Lelani Ellis, Brennen McCormick and Braylen McCormick, and five great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Visitation for Mr. Ellis will be held from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, with the Funeral Service following the Visitation, beginning at 1:00 pm, on Thursday, April 19, 2018 in the Rocky Mount Chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home, located at 325 Nash Street, in Rocky Mount, NC. The Interment will take place on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 10:00 am in Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, SC
