Mr. Eddie Lee Pugh

Mr. Eddie Lee Pugh, 67, aka, "Country", son of Everett Anthony and the late Mary Pugh, was born in Scotland Neck, Halifax County, North Carolina on July 6, 1950. He departed this earthly life on Thursday, April 19, 2018 in the serenity of his home.

Eddie received his education through the public schools of Halifax County during his younger years and Benjamin Franklin High School when he moved to New York.

After high school, Eddie joined the United States Army where he was Honorably Discharged.

He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and became a member of Lighthouse of Deliverance, where he was a member of the Usher Board, the Lighthouse of Deliverance Choir, and the Men’s Ministry until his health declined.

On December 10, 1988, Eddie was united in Holy Matrimony to Connie Mae Richardson and to this union, two daughters were born, Courtney and Cyronda.

Eddie had several hobbies that he enjoyed doing as often as he could when his health allowed. He was an avid fisherman and loved to shoot pool and travel, but one of his most enjoyable hobbies was freelance photography. Eddie would pull out his camera in a heartbeat and capture enjoyable moments of family, friends and church events.

In addition to his mother, Eddie was preceded in death by four brothers: Gene Pugh, Ronald Pugh, Donald Pugh, and James Anthony.

He leaves many wonderful and fond memories with his loving and devoted wife: Connie Mae Pugh of the home: daughters: Courtney Pugh and Cyronda Robinson (Terel), both of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Kellee Pugh of New York and Shakina Hardy of Arlington, VA; five grandchildren: Leilani Boone, Jihaad Lee Pugh, Jamal Wiggins, Eric Isler and Erica Isler; his father: Everett Anthony of Scotland Neck, NC; siblings: Anthony, Joseph, Janie, and Elizabeth Pugh, Laverne, Carl, Sandy, Van, John, and Don Anthony, Mary Veale, and Lucy Miller; two special friends: Charles Russell of Boston, MA and Eugene Smith of New York, NY; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A Visitation for Mr. Pugh will be held from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 pm, with the Funeral Service following the Visitation, beginning at 1:00 pm, on Friday, April 27, 2018, at Lighthouse of Deliverance Church of Christ No.1, 220 Branch Avenue, in Roanoke Rapids, NC. The Interment will take place immediately after the Service in White Rock Baptist Church Cemetery in Hollister, NC.
