Mr. Charlie Taylor

Henrico, VA

Mr. Charlie Taylor, 74, of Henrico Virginia was born on September 30, 1944 to the late James D. Taylor and Pattie Lue Taylor in Hertford County, North Carolina.

He departed this earthly life at the Lexington Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Richmond, Virginia on November 1, 2018.

In the early 1950’s, the family relocated to Northampton County settling in the community of Galatia where he became a member of Zoar Baptist Church.

He attended Willis Hare High School and later served in the United States Army for twenty years, with three of those years as a soldier in the Vietnam War.

Charlie met and married Janie Holmes. From this union, one son, Charlie Taylor, Jr. was born. Later, he met Evon Price and together they had a son, Marqueese Taylor.

Charlie suffered in silence, but his spirit did not bend. He faced his pain with courage and fought to stay here with us until the end. His fight was not in vain, now he is free. God saw Charlie getting tired and wrapped His arms around him and said, “Come, with Me”.

Left to cherish his memories are his three children: Venson Cooper of Lexington, KY, Charlie Taylor, Jr. and Marqueese Taylor; seven siblings: Rebecca Jamison of Savannah, GA, Annie L. Groves (Moses) of Teaneck, NJ, Louise Baylor (Fred) of Ashland, VA; adopted brother: Lorenza Taylor of Louisville, KY, Alexander Taylor (Gail) of Garysburg, NC and Willie Taylor (Jenita) of Clarksville, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will always carry his legacy of giving and showing love to all.
