Roanoke Rapids, NC

Mr. Robert Peebles Jefferies, “Ricky”, as he was affectionately called, is the son of Mrs. Catherine Jeffries and the late Robert Jeffries. He began his earthly journey on October 11, 1954 in Jackson, North Carolina.

As a youth, Robert attended Mt. Hope Baptist Church of Jackson and received his formal education through the Northampton County Public School System. Robert relocated to Washington, DC where he graduated from Cardoza High.

In 1980, he enlisted in the United States Army and served for three years. Later, Robert accepted employment with the Bureau of Engraving for many years. After deciding to move back to North Carolina, he became employed with Safelite Glass Company of Enfield, NC until the decline of his health. With a distinct love for God, Robert joined St. Peters Missionary Baptist Church of Weldon, North Carolina where he was a dedicated member. There, he served as President of the Usher Board and was a member of the male choir.

Uniting in Holy Matrimony, Robert married his wife, Thelma Jeffries, on July 17, 1995. His pleasing and caring personality, readiness to smile, and his keen sense of humor was a joy to all who knew him. To have known him was to love him.
