Mr. Robert Peebles Jefferies, “Ricky”, as he was affectionately called, is the son of Mrs. Catherine Jeffries and the late Robert Jeffries. He began his earthly journey on October 11, 1954 in Jackson, North Carolina.
As a youth, Robert attended Mt. Hope Baptist Church of Jackson and received his formal education through the Northampton County Public School System. Robert relocated to Washington, DC where he graduated from Cardoza High.
In 1980, he enlisted in the United States Army and served for three years. Later, Robert accepted employment with the Bureau of Engraving for many years. After deciding to move back to North Carolina, he became employed with Safelite Glass Company of Enfield, NC until the decline of his health. With a distinct love for God, Robert joined St. Peters Missionary Baptist Church of Weldon, North Carolina where he was a dedicated member. There, he served as President of the Usher Board and was a member of the male choir.
Uniting in Holy Matrimony, Robert married his wife, Thelma Jeffries, on July 17, 1995. His pleasing and caring personality, readiness to smile, and his keen sense of humor was a joy to all who knew him. To have known him was to love him.
Robert’s beautiful and treasured memories will remain with his wife: Thelma Jeffries of the home; daughter: Rekia Jeffries (Orlando) of Scotland Neck, NC; mother: Catherine Jeffries of Roanoke Rapids, NC; two grandchildren: I’yona Smith and Orlando Smith, Jr. of Scotland Neck, NC; three step-children: Brian Jones (Paula) of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Felicia Moody (Gregory) of Garysburg, NC, and William Greene of Roanoke Rapids, NC; four step grandchildren: Maurice Goodwin (La’Tasha) of Greensboro, NC, Ebony Coles (AJ) of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Tatayana Hare of Garysburg, NC, and Trivenus Greene of Roanoke Rapids, NC; one great-grandchild: Sylar Goodwin of Greensboro, NC; four brothers: Donald Jeffries (Ellen) of Fredricksburg, VA, James Jeffries (Alicia) of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Steve Jeffries, and Jerald Jeffries (De’Angela), all of Maryland; one sister: Dorine Coles (Edward) of Maryland; one sister-in-law: Betty Holley of Mt. To Mrs Jeffries, the children and extended family of Mr. Jeffries I'm sending my condolences. I know it's been a few weeks since you loss him to death, yet when death strikes it often hits us quickly but we suffer through it as in slow motion. Please know that Jehovah God knows your pain and assures you of his continuous help. At l Peter 5 and verse 7 he ask you to throw on our anxiety on him and why because he cares for you. So when you feel overwhelmed, pray to him knowing he's there for you and will help you. Have faith in that promise.

I want to send my deepest sympathy to the family of Mr. Robert Peebles Jeffries.
The bible tells us we can gain comfort from God, even during times of sorrow. We can pray to our heavenly father for help to cope with the sorrow felt from the death of a loved one.
By prayer and supplication, let your petitions be made known to God; and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6
The bible also promises that God “will wipe out every tear from [our] eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.” (Revelation 21:4) How comforting and reassuring that is! May you find comfort by relying on our heavenly father and learning more about the blessings of God's kingdom.
