I want to send my deepest sympathy to the family of Ms. Vanessa J. Gay.
The bible tells us we can gain comfort from God, even during times of sorrow. We can pray to our heavenly father for help to cope with the sorrow felt from the death of a loved one.
By prayer and supplication, let your petitions be made known to God; and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6
The bible also promises that God “will wipe out every tear from [our] eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.” (Revelation 21:4) How comforting and reassuring that is! May you find comfort by relying on our heavenly father and learning more about the blessings of God's kingdom.

I am so sorry for your loss. I was Ms. Gay's occupational therapist for quite a while in Wilson. Very rarely, I get the opportunity to work with a patient who helps me as much as, if not more than, I help them. Ms. Gay was one of those rare people. Working with her brought light to each of my days. She was a joy to be around even when I know she must have been hurting. She was kind and intelligent and funny and was simply one of the most amazing people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I enjoyed my conversations with her on topics ranging from art to science to politics to faith to travel and more. She loved her family dearly and had such a beautiful heart. Getting to know Ms. Gay was a gift and I will miss her. My thoughts and prayers are with your family on this day. I hope your memories of her will continue to fill your hearts with the kindness and resilience and joy and love she brought to this earth even in this challenging time.
