Mr. Arthur Lee Battle

Arthur Lee Battle was born on January 8, 1947 in Tarboro, North Carolina to the late James Wilbur Battle and Pearlie (Killebrew) Battle. On Saturday, October 28, 2017 he was
called to be with the Lord.

He was better known to a lot of us as “Cadillac Lee”. He was a very hard working and dedicated family man. He attended Edgecombe County Schools and later took up residence in Portsmouth, Virginia and later returned to Rocky Mount, North Carolina. He was employed at Water Brothers and Wards Roofing for more than thirty years. He gave his life to God at Community Church of Christ for approximately fifteen
years. He served faithfully in the church and he loved the Lord. He loved singing “We Come a Long Way”.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Inez Battle; sisters, Annie Ruth Hunter and Verna Marie Council; brothers, Matthew Killebrew, James Wilbur Battle, Forrest Tucker
Battle (aka Lilboy); son-in-law, William Johnson and daughter-in-law, Bernadette Bell.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory, one loving brother, William Turner Battle Sr. of Virginia; five daughters and six sons; Aurelia (Mikkeal) Harrison, Cynthia (Keith) Knox of
Georgia; Curtis Battle, Angela Battle of Georgia; Robin (Raymond) Richardson, Carolyn Bell, Scott Bell, Quinn (Melinda) Wallace, Marcel Wallace, Lloyd (Continie) Wallace
of Indiana, Antonio Wallace of Indiana; a special daughter,Tile’ Sharpe; thirty grandchildren, forty-three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members,two special friends Albert Hatcher and Elder James Wiggins,other friends and special neighbors.

A Visitation for Mr. Battle will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017, in the Rocky Mount Chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, November 3, 2017 Rocky Mount chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home, 325 Nash Street, Rocky Mount, NC. The Interment will take place immediately following the service in Gardens of Gethsemane in Rocky Mount, NC.
